Vanessa Womack, MBA, is a skilled facilitator in leadership, DEI, soft skills, strategic planning for boards, and team dynamics. An experienced course designer, she developed the LinkedIn Learning course “Managing A Diverse Team” in 2018 and the Listenable audio course “Practicing DEI Can Improve Organizational Culture” in 2020. Vanessa earned a DEI in the Workplace Certificate from USF. She is familiar with webinar technology like Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
Vanessa is also a BoardSource Certified Governance Consultant and has conducted governance training in parts of Virginia, D.C., and North Carolina. Her community engagement and leadership roles have included former president of the board of directors of Virginia Heroes Incorporated and former advisory council member for the Virginia Commonwealth University Grace E. Harris Leadership Institute Minority Political Leadership Institute and Initiatives of Change.
Other experiences have included Lead Faculty-Area Chair at the University of Phoenix Local Campus in Richmond, VA. She is also a member of Leadership Metro Richmond (LQ 2006) and has facilitated community dialogue through Initiatives of Change/Hope in the Cities’ presentation “Unpacking 2010 Census: The Realities of Race, Class and Jurisdiction”. Vanessa earned her undergraduate degree from Baruch College (CUNY) and graduate degree from Averett University.

Vanessa now has two STEAM children’s books, Bookie and Lil Ray: In the Game, and Emerald Jones: The Fashion Designer Diva. She has authored a romance novel, Paint the Sky Purple, and co-authored The Female CEO: Pearls, Power & Passion.
